Camp Director, Alan Meeder

Camp Director Alan Meeder is a master coach and teacher. He is a former Director of Boys' and Girls' Clubs. Coach Meeder has also been a Secondary School Administrator and Athletic Director. He holds California Secondary Teaching Credential and has taught in both private and public High Schools. His High School soccer teams have won league titles.

Alan moved to the college level with great success. He was twice Southern California College Coach of the Year. His last team at Santa Barbara was 16-3; posting wins over UCLA, Santa Clara, and Fullerton. He recorded the highest winning percentage of any Men's Soccer Coach in the school's history.

Alan has given coaching courses in 30 states and has certified over 9,000 coaches. He has conducted coaching courses for AYSO. USYSA, the U.S. Army, the C.I.F., the National Soccer Coaches Association, and the President's Council for Physical Fitness. He is often a featured speaker for youth soccer groups.

He served as the soccer advisor on a film "Minor Miracle" that featured Pele in a dramatic role. Alan produced and appeared in the video series "Soccer Games from the Soccer Academy". The series has become recognized nationally as breakthrough in training young players. He then wrote and was on screen in the two tape series "Tactical games". Tactical Games is quickly becoming a vital resource for trainers of competitive teenage and High School age players. Alan's latest project was the award winning "How to Coach Very Young Soccer Players". It has immediately become a best seller and a model for effective positive coaching. In 2006 Alan was the soccer technical advisor for "the Art of Soccer." This video was a joint French-German production for the World Cup 2006. Staring in the video was John Cleese and there are segments with Mia Hamm, Casey Keller, Thierry Henry, and a number of music and film stars.

Alan continues to direct The Soccer Academy, produce a variety of coaching materials, and conduct coaching courses. He is a dynamic motivational speaker who inspires coaches and parents to help young players to realize their potential as players and people.
